Genesis to host A2Zero Sustainability Tour

Updated: 5 minutes ago

On June 3, Genesis will open its doors to participants in A2Zero Week. From 1:00-3:30 pm, the Genesis Green Team will lead tours of our facility and demonstrate the measures we have taken to reduce our carbon footprint.

Genesis has been widely recognized as local model for promoting stewardship of the environment, having won a "Biggest Loser" award in the Michigan Battle of the Buildings for the second year in a row. The Genesis Journal will highlight this accomplishment in a coming feature story.

In June 2020, the City's plan to achieve a just transition to community-wide carbon neutrality, known as A2ZERO, was unanimously adopted by City Council. Each year, the Office of Sustainability and Innovations organizes A2ZERO Week to commemorate the passing of the plan and to celebrate the work done by the City and our many collaborators in the community.

In its announcement of this "Sustainable House of Worship Tour," the city of Ann Arbor commends Genesis for its goal of becoming carbon neutral by 2030 and for establishing a model for solar panels installation.

All Genesis members are welcome to join the tour, and help show off our building to A2Zero Week participants.
